Panicum virgatum ‘Heavy Metal’ or Blue Switch grass is special for its dramatic, metallic blue foliage and for its strong upright habit to around 140cm. Bluish-tinted, airy blooms appear in mid-Summer, highlighting the colour of its blue leaves. This variety makes a colourful backdrop to other grasses and perennials; looks stunning in drifts as well as a single specimen. A great choice for meadows and naturalized areas as it not picky about soil and is very drought tolerant. Best in full sun.
