Dianthus carthusianorum is a tall, long flowering, drought-tolerant perennial that is a great garden performer. A clump forming plant which has soft, silvery-green leaves making low growing clumps around 20cm tall and wide. Above this mound arises a mass of slender flowering spikes topped with bright-pink flowers. Flowering spikes re around 1m tall. When they flowering finishes in mid- to late Summer, interesting seed pods persist until Winter. This Dianthus will freely naturalise and looks great when teamed up with all number of ornamental grasses.
