Cotinus coggyria, the Smokebush, are a deciduous shrub with attractive rounded, light-green Spring foliage, which gradually darkens to a rich purple colour throughout Summer. Easy to manage they can be left to grow into a sizeable shrub around 3m tall and 2m across, but if trimmed in Winter, the overall shape is easily kept at around 1m tall.
